Control of Substances Hazardous to Health

Where a contractor / subcontractor uses a substance potentially hazardous to health on a McLaughlin & Harvey site, they must ensure that a proper ‘COSHH assessment’ has been carried out for the substance and its storage, dispensing, mixing, application, disposal and emergency precautions.

The operatives must be trained and informed about the substance, have a copy of the assessment and relevant method statement / safe system of work, and be provided with suitable personal protective equipment as appropriate.
